Met TOPOS <\/strong>geeft wpZimmer vorm aan een collectieve residentie waarbij verschillende kunstenaars worden uitgenodigd om samen te komen rond een thema. Voor deze vierde editie nodigde wpZimmer kunstenaar Isabel Burr Raty <\/strong>uit als curator om de TOPOS vorm te geven rond vragen uit haar praktijk. Isabel’s werk legt de sci-fi van het lichaam als thema op tafel. In het proces om de TOPOS vorm te geven werd ze bijgestaan door co-curatoren Ingrid Vranken en Gosie Vervloessem<\/strong> (wpZimmer). <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Samen nodigden zij Antye Guenther, Peggy Pierrot, Olave Nduwanje en ooooo <\/em><\/strong>– allen met hun respectievelijke praktijken – uit om zich bezig te houden met het denken over het meer-dan-menselijke. Hun vragen brengen hen altijd terug naar het lichaam: Wat bedoelen, voelen en denken we als we het over ons lichaam hebben.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

TOPOS 4 stelt het lichaam voor als inherent Sci-Fi, een verstrengeling van micro- en macro-entiteiten en performativiteiten die worden beschouwd als ‘natuurlijk’ en ‘kunstmatig’, ‘menselijk’ en ‘niet-menselijk’, ‘organisch’ en ‘synthetisch’, ‘analoog’ en ‘virtueel’. Deze collectieve residentie wil een kleine groep mensen samenbrengen om te werken rond het waarnemen van het lichaam als een veelheid. Het gaat erom de rol van het lichaam in het cre\u00ebren van affiniteit door verschil in vraag te stellen. Hoe kunnen we desidentificatie beoefenen door het lichaam centraal te stellen?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
