Ge\u00efnspireerd door het werk van Constantin Brancusi brengen zeven Roemeense en Belgische kunstenaars elke donderdag, vrijdag en zaterdag tijdens EUROPALIA ROMANIA een reeks live performances en installaties in BOZAR. Hun moderne interpretaties dienen als dialoog tussen de beweging die in Brancusi’s sculpturen en die van hun lichamen is ingekapseld en tonen de tijdloze relevantie van hedendaagse kunst.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gaetan Rusquet, een van de deelnemende kunstenaars, brengt ‘The eye in the light in the eye<\/em> (werktitel)’. Dit project is een poging om te resoneren met Brancusi’s werk, meer bepaald met zijn zelfportretten en de clich\u00e9s van zijn sculpturen. Daarin ziet hij een verlangen om een absoluut voor te stellen, om tot de essentie van een vorm of een idee te komen. En meer concreet, een wil om te spelen met licht en schaduw, een verlangen om kwaliteiten te verbergen of te benadrukken voor \u00e9\u00e9n gezichtspunt, dat van de camera.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Door de huidige benadering van de fotografie te observeren, vooral het zelfportret, wil hij met het verlangen naar controle in de compositie van een beeld spelen.
